Norkova is a wellness-based community rooted in mental health and wellness.

Our goal is to create a non-denominational, wellness-centered container. A space of healing | whether that be somatic work, support groups, workshops, etc | or | laughter, dance, retreats, connection.

We accept and honor the duality of the human condition - and this is reflected in our events and containers.

Humans are pack animals, and today’s current society is not built for sustainable community or wellness.

We are healing. We are living. We are changing social norms and bringing humanity back to our primal roots of togetherness.

The Norkova Studio

Please confirm the event location upon event/class sign-up. Most classes and smaller events will be at the Norkova Studio, however, part of Norkova’s mission is supporting the greater community, so we will be continuing to host events at other local businesses around SLC.

First, you don’t need to be a member to join events! We have ad hoc sign-ups for all events.

If you find yourself coming to more than 1 event a month, we created a membership!

1) Accessibility - There is power in numbers. The more people coming to events, the lower we can keep the cost. With so many events of various kinds - we attract all types of interests and people. Consistency and sustainability is key.

If you go to 2 events a month, the membership pays for itself. And if you don’t, you are still supporting your community even if you can’t be there.

2) Growth - Let’s be real - getting people to show up to things is hard. The goal here is create a sense of belonging…but how can you feel like you belong if you see different people at every class or event?

The memberships creates “buy-in,” literally, physically, financially, energetically - in hopes Norkova members , Norkovies, will regularly attend events, even if it’s one a month - to stay plugged in and connected.

3) Supporting Local - We are not, nor will we ever be a fitness or yoga studio. However, we love fitness, yoga, movement, and workshops. And saunas, and cold plunges, and fresh brewed coffee, and live music. All of things!

These are essential to our well-being and a large portion of norkova events.

The “collective” piece of the Community Collective Membership allows local instructors, practitioners, studios, teachers to plug into norkova seamlessly.

The community grows beyond the Norkova container - and into society around us.

Anyone with a beating heart and willingness to put themselves out there and be seen.

• We are currently geared toward adults, however, parents can use their best judgement for bringing their kids along

• Events are open to all genders unless specified on event sign-ups

• We a neutral space - steering away from having too many niche groups

  • Finding the balance between providing safe spaces for certain demographics and stages and being inclusive to all

In short - all aspects of Norkova are intended to create connection, community, a sense of belonging - both within society and within yourself.

There is so much noise in today’s Age of Information. Norkova offers many types of workshops, classes, and events in order to allow members and attendees to try out new things and decide for themselves what works.

“Accessible mental health and wellness” means affordable and easy to join. Low pressure, central locations, and clear expectations.

Norkova is the last name of a dear friend who passed from suicide - Tereza Norkova.

It stands for all the pain and suffering that is so avoidable in modern day. Honoring both the living, and the deceased.

It’s hard to find people who have not been affected by suicide in some way, shape, or form, yet it is still taboo to talk about.

Norkova aims to de-stigmitize all things suicide — whether that be suicidal ideations, pain from losing someone to suicide, the confusion, the understanding, the anger, the relating.

Being seen, being heard, being understood is one of the most powerful human tools we have.
